GFC Prayer Ministries
Christ the Healer Healing School & Monday Night Prayer
Healing School & Monday Night Prayer postponed during summer months. (June - August)
We offer Christ the Healer Healing School on Monday evenings at 7:00. There is a 30 minute teaching on what the Bible has to say about healing followed by approximately 45 minutes of prayer time where we pray together for general needs and then specific prayer requests. On the last Monday of each month we have an extended time of prayer from 7:00 to 10:00pm where we can allow ourselves and the Holy Spirit more time for ministry.
We emphasize Christ the Healer because it is important for both the person who is receiving and the person that is ministering to know that it is Christ that heals, not man.
Goal: Our goal for Healing School is to acquaint the individual with what the Bible teaches, that God's will is for everyone to be healed and to receive God's promise.
Policy Statement: We, at GFC, in no way or circumstances discourage people from seeking and receiving medical attention for sickness or other infirmity. Medicine and advancement in health care are recognized as a gift of God and work in harmony with prayer, seeking the healing of the individual.
Foundational Scriptures:
- Romans 4:20-21
- He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. And being fuly persuaded that what he had promised he was able also to perform.
- Proverbs 4:20-22
- My son, attend to my words, incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh.
- John 8:31-32
- ...If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed. And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.
We Believe:
That divine healing is part of redemption that was provided for through Christ's sacrifice and resurrection. Faith in the promise of the word puts a person in a position to receive what is already provided. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17).
- Proverbs 4:20-22 gives insight into the process of receiving healing:
- attend to the word; incline thine ear unto the word; keep the word before your eyes.
It results in the seed of the word of God planted in your heart (Mark 4). The word is life to those that find them and health to all their flesh. The word is spiritual medicine, coming against sickness and disease through prayer and faith. John 8:31-32 promises us that if we continue in the word, we will know the truth and it will set us free.
Redemptive Scriptures:
- Psalm 103:2-3 (Amp)
- Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits -- who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases,
- Isaiah 53:4-5 (Amp)
- Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
- Matthew 8:17 (Amp)
- And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases.
- I Peter 2:24 (Amp)
- He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.
Commissioned:
- Mark 16:18
- ...they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
- James 5:14-15 (AMP)
- Is anyone among you sick? He should call in the church elders (the spiritual guides). And they should pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Lord's name. And the prayer [that is] of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
Pre-Service Prayer
We gather together 30 minutes prior to our Sunday morning and Wednesday night services for a time of prayer. During this prayer time, our main goal is to come into agreement and one accord with each other that God's will be done in that service. We welcome anyone who would like to attend this time of prayer.
